Frequently Asked Questions

  • How often should I use a natural face exfoliant?

It's best to start using a facial exfoliant once a week to see how your skin handles it. If you find that's enough, then keep it at once a week. If you feel your skin wants it more often, you can increase to twice a week, but we don't recommend exfoliation more often than that, as overexfoliation can cause redness and irritation, and even breakouts.

  • Is your face exfoliant suitable for sensitive skin?

We recommend our Detox Exfoliating Mask for sensitive skin, as it contains gentle ingredients and no essential oils. If you have sensitive skin, it's important not to let the mask dry completely on your face, but moisten your skin occasionally while the mask is on so it's easier to remove at the end.

  • What ingredients should I look for in a natural face exfoliant?

You can look for ingredients with exfoliating enzymes, like pumpkin and honey, or with mechanical exfoliants, like ground black walnut shell or botanical powders. You want to make sure the texture is not too coarse, and be gentle when applying your facial exfoliants so you're not overexfoliating.
