Whether it is a good choice to use a single bar of soap for your face and your body depends on your skin and the specific bar you choose.

Facial skin is generally more delicate and reactive than the skin on the body, so we usually recommend using a facial cleanser formulated specifically for the face, especially if you experience dryness, sensitivity, acne, eczema, or perioral dermatitis.

That said, some people with balanced, resilient skin enjoy using a gentle, fragrance-free body bar on both face and body. If you’d like to really simplify your routine, choose a mild bar with nourishing oils and minimal essential oils, and pay close attention to how your skin responds. Skin should feel comfortable and soft after cleansing — not tight, stripped, or irritated. Some of our customers happily use Oh So Body Soap or Naked Body Soap on their body, their face, and even their hair!

At Osmia, we formulate and hand make our bar soaps with a specific focus on either the body or the face. When in doubt, gentler is almost always better.

To extend the life of your soap bar, keep it dry. Between uses, place your soap on the convenient Soap Saver included with this kit. This Soap Saver (or a different well-draining dish) will help your soap dry completely and last longer. Avoid leaving your bar in the stream of running water while showering or letting it float in your tub while bathing.
