What are the benefits of using body soap bars over liquid soap?

Bar soap does not contain chemical detergents like sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate, and does not require a preservative. Bar soap naturally contains glycerin, which is very moisturizing for your skin, so it's often less drying than body wash. Bar soap usually comes in more eco-conscious packaging as well, especially Osmia body soap, which comes in FSC-certified, recyclable paper cartons.

How long does a body soap bar typically last with regular use?

If kept on a soap saver, our bar soaps last 1-2 months for most people. Bar soap will get soggy if you keep it in a dish that collects water, and soggy soap does not last as long, so we definitely recommend using our soap saver to extend the life of your bar soap!

Do your soap bars contain any harsh chemicals or artificial fragrances?

Our bar soaps contain plant oils, glycerin, essential oils, and natural clays or botanicals. We do not use synthetic fragrance in any of our products. All soap is made with lye, which is sodium hydroxide (bar soap) or potassium hydroxide (liquid soap), but it gets used up in the chemical reaction of soapmaking, so there is no lye left in your finished bar of Osmia soap.
