Spicy Avocado Cream (Vegan & Dairy-Free): A Zesty Twist with Zucchini

July 12, 2025 by Sarah Villafranco, MD

"A dollop of this avocado cream turns any meal into a dream."

Okay, that was just me quoting me, but I swear it's true! Tonight, I had a craving for handmade corn tortillas, fresh veggies, and some kind of delightfully creamy avocado stuff that was a little fancier than plain guacamole. The secret ingredient? Zucchini! It blends into a light, smooth consistency and adds a little body, so you don't have to use as many precious avocados.

To make this spicy avocado cream, simply add the ingredients below to your blender and blend until smooth and fluffy. Add a healthy blob to tacos, nachos, enchiladas, burritos, scrambled eggs—really anything that plays well with avocado and jalapeño.

Spicy Vegan Avocado Cream Recipe

  • 1 zucchini, peeled and chopped

  • 2 ripe avocados, pitted

  • 1/4 cup raw cashews (soaked for 20 minutes if time allows)

  • Juice of 1 and a half limes

  • 1/2 jalapeño, seeded and chopped

  • 1/2 bunch of cilantro

  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt

  • 1–2 tablespoons olive oil (I used garlic-infused olive oil)

  • Warm water as needed for consistency

Blend it all up until smooth, and serve fresh!

With love and avocado dreams,

She moved to Colorado, where she practiced as a board-certified emergency medicine physician at Aspen Valley Hospital, Snowmass Clinic, and Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs, CO. After losing her mother to pancreatic cancer, she took a local soap making class, and fell in love with the chemistry and artistry of making soap. Sarah went into research mode and was alarmed to learn how many potentially harmful ingredients were in most skincare products on the market. She knew she could make better, safer products that were as effective (if not more so) than conventional products. After a few years of research and development, Sarah stepped away from the emergency room to launch Osmia Skincare in April of 2012. She remains a licensed physician in Colorado, and now helps people find healthier, happier skin as CEO of the brand.
