Pregnancy is a great time to double check your labels (and to rub a divine body mousse all over your belly). But scanning ingredient lists can be pretty overwhelming, so we're here to make it a little easier. First of all, you can breathe easy knowing we don't use this stuff in our products - any of them. But, since not all essential oils are perfect companions to your growing belly, we've outlined which are more suited to pregnancy, and which of our products should be used more sparingly. As always, email us with any questions!
WHAT OSMIA PRODUCTS ARE MADE WITHOUT ESSENTIAL OILS?
This collection of products is made with no essential oils, and safe for use on your skin during and after pregnancy, as well as on your baby’s sensitive skin (except the Detox Mask—wait till they're teenagers for that one!).
WHAT OSMIA PRODUCTS ARE GENERALLY CONSIDERED SAFE DURING PREGNANCY?
These products either have low concentrations of pregnancy-safe essential oils or are considered safe for use because they get rinsed from the skin.
WHAT PRODUCTS SHOULD I USE SPARINGLY DURING PREGNANCY?
Some of these products contain essential oils that are not recommended during pregnancy by many aromatherapists. The low concentrations of these oils are likely safe, but we want to provide a list for those who are extremely concerned about essential oil use during pregnancy.
Spotless Blemish Oil (small amount of parsley essential oil)
Light Body Oil (lemongrass essential oil)
Rosemary Body Mousse (rosemary, chemotype verbenone)
** Disclaimer: Aromatherapy in pregnancy is a personal choice. We do not recommend the use of oral or undiluted essential oils during pregnancy unless working directly with an aromatherapist. We do think that moderate use of diluted, appropriate essential oils can contribute to a healthy, happy pregnancy.
